Day 27, January 31

At Sea

There was a time change again last night so we were up at 0545 feeling it was 0645. Following a fine 2 mile deck walk we made the Neptune Lounge for breakfast and meet others. Captain van der Waard stopped in for a coffee which gave us a chance to thank him for his excellent ship handling yesterday.
Craig attended a tech workshop to learn how to create a photo book. Julie got a fine haircut.
Our noon report shows we have made 7,401 nm so far and have 293 nm to go to our next anchorage. It is nice outside, temperature of 81º F (27º C), wind NE at 39 knots (Beaufort force 8), humidity of 72% and a sea depth of 17,052'. Swells and waves are low with whitecaps. Moderate rolling.

Puttered about the ship this afternoon, made another computer movie making class and so on.

Dinner tonight was at the Pinnacle with friends Gary and Terri from a previous voyage. The special dinner tonight was French and featured Steak Tartare with Dijon coulis, Forest Mushroom consomme with morels and truffle oil, foie gras with figs and greens, champagne granite, Beef Bourguignon with traditional garnishes, Tarte Tartin with home made vanilla bean ice cream and all paired with select wines from France. The social schedule tonight had a conflict as we also had an invitation to a get-acquainted happy hour with some of the crew and officers at the Petty Officers Mess.
