23 April, Day 109 Atlantic Ocean

a passing freighter

Another time change was last night. That is a 1 hour time change each night for 3 in a row. Our friend Pam is celebrating her birthday today so we had a party in the Neptune for her. The mid day report showed course 259º (Sailing the great circle route), wind force 3 (9knots) from the NE, ship speed of 20.5 knots, air temp is 70ºF (21C), distance from last port (Funchal) 1,932 nm, distance to pier 26 in Ft. Lauderdale is 1,386 nm. Total nautical miles this voyage: 30,849 .
Pam's Birthday Party

This has been similar to having rented a 556sq ft one bedroom apartment on the 7th floor with picture windows and a balcony that overlook........the world. Every day is a different scene. At the time this is being written, the scene is the Atlantic on a sunny day, a few white caps, following sea and nothing man made in sight.
Packing continues and it is now difficult to navigate the cabin due to shoals of bags. Despite that we had dinner in the cabin tonight. The entertainment is Wayne Newton at 10pm. He, his wife, daughter and her nanny are on this deck, portside.
