24 April Day 110. The Atlantic

Easter Sunday. Several services have been held about this ship this morning. The ship smells the barn. Our packing is almost complete with 14 suitcases and one box packed and one suitcase to go. People are adding and recording their purchases for customs. Calling cards are being exchanged and plans for future voyages are being discussed. What was the exchange rate in Rarotonga? What was this receipt for? Where were we on this day? What did I buy in Dunedin?
Late morning there was a food expo in the dining room where each department showed their best. Creative breads, sushi, venison, beef, hams, fish, lamb, carved fruits, chocolate sculptures and many desserts. After an hour of preview and photographing, with culinary crew, dining room crew, the ship's hostess and Captain Olav present, the feeding frenzy began. We took the opportunity to thank Captain Olav for the success of the voyage. Immediately after the feed the crew dismantled the decorations and began clean up for tonight's formal dinner.

The Court of Neptune went into continuous session, which means that for the afternoon there were always people in the lounge and great discussions going on. A bottle of champagne appeared.
The noon report showed 31,347 nm to date, 2,420 nm from Funchal 6 days ago, 887 miles to go to Ft Lauderdale, Temp of 70F, wind E at 19 knots (following seas), Course 254 and a speed of 22.5 knots.

Dinner tonight was a reunion in the private room of the Pinnacle. Most of the people who had gone on the Eastern & Orient Express overland attended along with the excursion leader, his wife and the coordinator. My tux is now put away and informal wear will be the norm for the rest of the voyage.
Another time change will take place tonight. That means I have to set the clocks on the computers, watches and 4 cameras. The stateroom clock re-sets automatically.
