Day 24 January 28. Bora Bora

Another day at anchor off Bora Bora. What a view there is here. A passing shower rinsed the ship and a few of the passengers this morning. We dallied a bit then caught the shore boat. Once downtown, which is a street and a few shops, grocery store, gas station, homes, university, boat shop and chandler y, we braved the traffic and walked 10 minutes to Marine Supply. There we outfitted with our own snorkeling equipment. We were helped in the store by a fine young couple and their baby. This was very helpful because my grasp of the French language is limited and this couple spoke English well. I actually got what we wanted and there were no international incidents arising from my sojourn onto the island.
At 1630 the sail away party began on the after Lido deck and we recovered the hook, spun about and gracefully exited the anchorage. The afternoon sun lit the island, the motus (islets), the reef, surf and water in a picture postcard view as our floating home headed south west. This one we don't want to leave yet.
